Frank Jereis at Yonkers City Hall. The $30,000 was lined up for a company he owned — and never paid out.

The truth about Frank Jereis

He lined up a $30,000 city contract — for his own company.

No public bid. No word that he owned the company — all while he was a City of Yonkers employee. Here is exactly what happened, every step of it on the record.

The fileYonkers, 2023

July 2023

He starts the company.

Frank Jereis registers a new business, Aces Consulting & Communication LLC. State business records list him as the person who set it up.2

Sept. 2023

A city contract appears for it.

Weeks later, a $30,000 city contract to “design government mailers” lands on the agenda of the board that approves city spending — with no public bidding. The council member who put it forward, Majority Leader Tasha Diaz, is someone whose campaign Jereis ran.1

The catch

Nobody said he owned it.

Neither Jereis nor Diaz mentioned that Jereis owned the company the money was headed to. Once board members saw who was behind it, the item was pulled before any vote. Jereis never received a dollar.1,3

Pulled from agenda
What the rules say Yonkers’ ethics rules are plain: a city employee who stands to gain from a city contract has to disclose it, out in the open. That disclosure never happened — and at the time, Frank Jereis was an employee of the City of Yonkers, serving as secretary of its Human Rights Commission. (Yonkers City Charter §C1A-13.)3,4

The question

This is how Frank Jereis does business.

A no-bid city contract, steered to a company he owned — with no one told he was behind it. He wants to represent Yonkers in Albany. How can we trust him?
